Two Letters Signed
- Two heartfelt letters to fellow Baltimore resident, the Baltimore Sun columnist, essayist, and novelist Franklin Mason. The first dated 2 November 1985 is a Typed Letter Signed with original envelope, and expresses her appreciation of "the touching and endearing portrait of your wife" in an article Mason wrote, and says further: "I know how the slightest mental cloud can make writing seem impossible, so I admire you for picking up your work again in this sad time." The second is dated 9 May 1997 and is an Autograph Note Signed with original envelope, in response to a letter of condolence on the death of her husband, in part: "At this moment, I can't imagine ever writing again, but I take heart in knowing that you have lived through your own sadness and survived it to go on working." Mason himself died in 1998. [Attributes: Signed Copy]
