Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch
New York: New Directions, 1957. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/very good. Signed and dated by Miller on the title page. Near fine in a very good jacket, clipped, lightly rubbed at the edges. Orange cloth with black ink lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound, a brown strip of oxidization inside the front board, some neat and thoughtful marginalia throughout. Miller's loving account of "an earthly paradise on the rugged California coast south of Monterey." The content, though about Big Sur, includes the usual Millerian elements: writers who never write, sex cults and celebrities, etc.
