The Niagara Falls Power Company, Niagara Falls, NY 1927 - xxii, 455; xv, 504 p. Vol. I has a colour "mural" enclosed at front and 92 b&w illustrations. Vol. II has 106 b&w illustrations. Blue cloth hardcovers with gold lettering in marbled cardboard slipcase. Slipcase has broken side and chips to paper. Edward Adams was well qualified for writing about hydro-electric power. As the title page notes, he was the 1926 winner of the John Fritz Medal, highest American award in engineering. Presented each year for scientific or industrial achievement in any field of pure or applied science, the award has also been presented to Herbert Hoover, Guglielmo Marconi, Orville Wright and Alexander Graham Bell. The inserted "mural" is by William Andrew ("Willy") Pogany (1882-1955), prolific Hungarian illustrator of children's and other books. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
