- Antique print, titled: 'Vue de Haarlem, du Cote du Spaar.' - Plate: Haarlem, view from the Spaarne. Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Description: Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Pierre-Francois Basan' after 'van Dalens'. Pierre-Francois Basan (Paris 1723-1797) was a French engraver. He was a pupil of Etienne Fessard and Jean Daulle. He was principally occupied as a printseller, and published a 'Dictionnaire des Graveurs' in 1789. Dirk Dalens II (1659-1688) was a landscape artist, who died young. Condition: Very good, given age. A few small holes in clouds, hardly visible. Small spots of paper damage. Light creasing and soiling. Trimmed at plate edge. Paper edges a bit irregular. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: B14-23 The overall size is ca. 19.9 x 14.3 inch. The image size is ca. 19.1 x 13.6 inch. The overall size is ca. 50.5 x 36.3 cm. The image size is ca. 48.5 x 34.6 cm.
