This is 'the substance of a lecture delivered in the Hall of Science, Sheffield, on the 9th February, 1842. It is a defence of Charles Southwell who was imprisoned for blasphemy, an attempt to justify his conduct and doings, and an appeal for pecuniary aid to secure the triumph of his principles'. [Goss].
