[Camps Farthest Out] [1935], [Lake Koronis, Paynesville Minnesota] - 10 x 12 inch scrapbook covered in leather and cork, containing over 100 black and white photos from mid 1930's. Handwritten title on front: Camps Farthest Out. Three 8 x 10 group shots not tipped in. This scrapbook chronicles one of the nascent summers of the Camps Farthest Out program and contains pictures and ephemera from its original founder Glenn Clark and the original camp location at Lake Koronis, Paynesville Minnesota. The subject matter is a religious adult spiritual retreat in the summer of 1935. Also included within the covers of this scrapbook - but separate - are the detached sheets from a girl's summer camp called: Camp Cheneaux, Cedarville, Michigan, dated 1934 and contains approximately 93 black and white photos (2 x 3 inches and 3 x 5) of camp life. The girls camp photos show typical pre-WWII summer camp activities. Most of the Camp's Furthest Out material dates from the mid 1930's. Included are letters, sermons, testimonials, camp agendas and itineraries and names and contact information for participants. The other material is Christian based programming. Today, Camps Farthest Out, is an international Christian organization. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
