Portrait frontispiece, extra engraved title page and 81 full-page engraved plates including a map. One of a series of descriptive and historical works by the Scottish physician and poet with illustrations by his fellow traveller William H. Bartlett. This copy is collated and complete. The illustrations are in good condition with some foxing. Yellow end papers. The binding is worn with some heavy scuffing and upper tip wear to the spine and some rubbing and edgewear to the covers.   Condition Report Externally Spine – fair condition – rubbed and darkened, fraying to top and base and joints. Joints – fair condition – fraying to the joints. Corners – fair condition – worn and bumped. Boards – good condition – marks, scratches and rubbing. Page edges – good condition – gilt.
