Three quarter red leather binding with reddish marbled paper covered boards. 5 raised bands and gilt lettered title on the spine. Reddish marbled end papers. Illustrated with 2 folding maps. Author Charles C. Jones, Jr. armorial bookplate on the front paste down. Light edge wear to extremities. A very good copy. Scarce 5 copies listed in OCLC as of 12/17: UGA, New York Public Library, Smithsonian, University of Wisconsin, and the American Antiquarian Society. Derenne II page 711 - "Most of this paper incorporated in Jones' Antiquities of the Southern Indians, 1873.."; Sabin 36473. Field 794 lists the same title but has a different description with no date listed.
