London Hodder & Stoughton 1938 - Sixth edition. Blue cloth with gilt spine titles. Ownership signature on front endpaper of Rex Whistler and later of Laurence Whistler. A very good copy. Whistler's annotations and pencil markings throughout which correspond to the drawings produced by Whistler to accompany Mason's story. Whistler's drawings for the story were not published with the novel, but instead hang in the Tate Gallery. After Rex Whistler died his brother Laurence produced a book of the drawings which also reproduces correspondence between Rex and Mason. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
