OHO! Certain Two-Faced Individuals Now Exposed By The Bodley Head. The Drawings by Rex Whistler [WITH:] Songs of Our Grandfathers, Re-set in Guinness Time. IN CUSTOM BOX.
The Bodley Head, John Lane, London 1946 - Whistler, Rex. OHO. London: John Lane, The Bodley Head, (1946). First Edition. Fine copy in pictorial boards in Near Fine matching price (5 shillings net) Dust Jacket. A charming if peculiar work, consisting of a plethora of Rex Whistler's 'reversible' faces accompanied by droll text by his brother Laurence. One can read the book right-side-up and up-side-down. This example is in superb condition with only the most minor of blemishes. [WITH:] Whistler, Rex. SONGS OF OUR GRANDFATHERS (RE-SET IN GUINNESS TIME). London: Arthur Guinness, [1936]. First edition. A Good copy in full color pictorial stiff paper wrappers (leaves loose in case, some wear and staining). BOTH VOLUMES IN CUSTOM BOX. A previous owner decided to put these two items in a single nicely-crafted protective case so we've decided to simply price the pair as if the SONGS were a free bonus. The copy of OHO is exceedingly nice. That's why you're paying for. The clamshell box and reading copy of SONGS are simply a whimsical bit of oddness appropriate for such a randomly cool book such as OHO. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
