[Erie, Pa, 1885. 108pp. plus [16]pp. of advertisements. Quarto. Lurid color pictorial wrappers. Wraps chipped and worn, old tape repairs on verso. Tanned, else internally quite good. McKay was lauded for capturing renegade Modocs who allegedly killed Gen. Edward Canby while the General was on a peace mission to the tribe in northern California in 1870. A number of issues were published. This version is not listed in Howes. HOWES E71 (ref).
