Halyartès, poème en prose.
[Philippe Renouard for the], Société du livre d'art,, Paris 1904 - One of 100 copies on vélin d'Arches, with the additional suite in monochrome, very scarce. The jewel-like illustrations are finely inked 'à la poupée': that is, with several coloured inks applied by hand to portions of the same copper plate before overprinting on the monochrome impressions. Mickhaël (1866-1890) was a symbolist poet from a Jewish family in Toulouse, a frequenter in Paris of the 'mardis de Mallarmé'. He died of tuberculosis at the age of 23. Large 8vo (280 × 200 mm), pp. [6], 30, [4]. 13 etched illustrations, coloured by hand 'à la poupée', additional monochrome suite bound at the end.
