The Dog Beneath the Skin, or Where is Francis?
London: Faber & Faber, 1935 - Octavo. Original red cloth, titles to spine in blue, fore and bottom edges untrimmed. With the dust jacket. Ownership inscription to front free endpaper, spine gently rolled, foxing to endleaves and edges. In the dust jacket with a few small tears but no loss of lettering. First edition, first impression. Faber and Faber were initially unwilling to put Isherwood's name on the title page: as he himself admitted, it was mainly Auden's work. However, the play was eventually printed and credited to both authors. Bloomfield & Mendelson A9a. [Attributes: First Edition]
