Full mottled calf leather over boards; raised bands on spine with gilt stamped floral and stylized winged cherub designs in panels; gilt stamped floral rolls on board edges; all textblock edges red; Dutch double-comb marbled end papers; copperplate engraved title page and 31 (of 32) numbered full page plates; woodcut tailpieces and drop-cap initials; green silk ribbon marker. Clean covers and spine; 9 mm tear in leather on front cover near lower fore corner; 15 mm and 7 mm holes in binding at upper spine; title panel lacking on spine; joints remain supple; tightly bound; pastedowns lifting from boards; 19th Century owner name and library stamp on front fly leaf; text and plates are crisp and clear throughout; some light spotting and staining and few small closed tears without loss; plate 31 is detached and laid in; plate 32 is lacking; ribbon marker is detached and laid in.  18.5 x 12 cm.
