New York: Doubleday, Page and Company, 1901. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. 330 pp. Cranberry cloth with gilt lettering, gilt topstain. Tissue-guarded frontispiece with faux signature underneath it. Very Good with small strip of cloth at head gone, wear to tail. Two owners' names written on front flyleaf, booksellers stamp there as well. Small interior chip to title page at hinge. Upper corners of front board and textblock a bit bumped. A very nice copy of the African-American author and educator's celebrated autobiography.
