First English language edition translated from the original Dutch. 7 1/2 in (18.5 cm) tall; 285 p. 1952 stated. First edition stated on copyright page and $3.00 on jacket flap. Top edge red. Publisher's black cloth with silver lettering to spine. Introduction by Eleanor Roosevelt. Tight, clean binding. Clean text pages. Appears unread. Pictorial endpapers. Clean page block sides. Clean, unclipped dust jacket in clear protector. Lower rear board with shallow dent, front pastedown with neat last name under jacket flap, verso of front free endpaper with neat name dated 1952, margin with closed tear, pages slightly toned. Jacket spine somewhat pale though entirely legible, head with shallow chipping, lower rear panel with short closed tear. Anneliese Frank's diary documents her life in hiding during the Nazi occupation of Holland beginning in 1942. A well-preserved copy of a compelling book.
