Garvin, Brock Jobe, and Johanna McBrien), a graphical description of furniture terminology ("Reader's Note"), and a catalogue describing in detail 117 pieces of furniture each illustrated in black & white photographs with 14 of the pieces also illustrated in full-page color plates. In addition, there are two appendices (on Furniture Makers and Allied Craftsmen and on Portsmouth Branded Furniture) and an extensive bibliography.
