London, John Murray, 1888 3rd thousand. - Hardback, 7.5 x 5 inches. In green blind stamped cloth with gilt lettering and decoration to spine, blind paneled boards. Brown endpapers. In very good condition. Rubbing to edges, top corners nicked and ends of spine split. Spine slightly darkened. Some minor marks and rubbing to boards. Hinges slightly cracked between endpapers. A couple of very minor spots and handling markls else pages very clean and tight. xx + 352 pp +32 pp cat. (dated July 1887.) With 15 b&w illustrations in text. Only about 2,000 copies of this work was sold during Darwin?s lifetime, and perhaps 4,000 before the end of the century (Freeman). Freeman1280
