Contemporary (old) hand colored copperplate engraving on a verge type hand laid paper. Description: This scarse print / plate originates from a 1758 unfolded edition of 'Pomologia' by Johann Hermann Knoop. This is a well-known Dutch work (first edition) on fruit and domestic horticulture. The fruit is named in the image.Artists and Engravers: Artist: Johann Hermann Knoop (c.1700-1769). Engraved by Jacob Folkema (1692-1767), a Dutch engraver. Condition: Excellent. General age related toning. Light damp stain and small worm hole in top margin, not affecting image. Small holes in left margin from binding, not effecting image or plate. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: LJC-A1-19 The overall size is ca. 9.8 x 14.2 inch.
