- Plate : 'Griethuisen'. (Griethausen.) This plate shows a view of Griethausen near Kleve, Germany. Very rare! Original copperplate engraving / etching on a verge type hand laid paper. Original folds. Description: This original antique print originates from: Nieuwe historische-geographische beschryving van den geheelen aardkloot (.).', by J.H. Knoop, published in Leeuwarden (1765?) and Amsterdam 1785 by J.B. Elwe.Artists and Engravers: Johann Hermann Knoop (c.1700-c.1768) is best known for his botanical work on fruit and horticulture: 'Pomologia.' (Reiner Ottens and his brother Joshua have been active in map printing and selling during the first half of 18th Century. The family business was founded by their father Joachim, but most productive during the time of Reiner and Joshua. Condition: Excellent. General age related toning. Rear blank. Original fold lines as issued. Please study scans carefully. Storage location: C111-16 The overall size is ca. 10.2 x 8.1 inch. The image size is ca. 8.9 x 5.1 inch.
