Daniae Regnu
First half of the 17th. century. - Plate mark 44,5 x 38 cm. The whole sheet 45,5 x 57 cm. A beautiful map of Denmark and what is now southern Sweden (after 1658). Published for a french edition of the great Mercator / Hondius "Atlas sive cosmographicae" published in many editions in several languages between 1606 and the mid 1600s. New maps were included in each edition. The atlas was originally published by Gerhard Mercator a few months after his death in 1595. Jodocus Hondius bought the printing plates in 1604 and reissued the atlas in 1606. Consequently it is known as the Mercator / Hondius atlas. Good margins. Some stains and dirt in the margins. A couple of faint stains on the map. A nice impression.
