Canford Manor, 1865 In red cloth with gilt title, lines and tooling, beveled edges, corners and edges a little bumped and worn, some small marks to front and rear. Spine a little grubby, edges bumped and worn, title & tooling in gilt. Internally, dark green end papers, NO inscriptions etc, text block edges in gilt, (6), 302 pp, [6]. A narrative of 12th century India. With a note stating that it was bought from Canford House who also printed for some famous authors, including Tennyson, but the printings were in small numbers and always rare!. COPAC show copies at Oxford, BL & the V&A, however cannot find a copy sold at auction since 1976! Very rare
