Bangor - Jarvis and Foster 1927 - Theophilus Evans' influential work, with notes by Samuel J. Evans. In Welsh. Second edition. Theophilus Evans (February 1693 September 11, 1767) was a Welsh clergyman and historian. Originally from Cardiganshire, Evans served curacies in Brecknockshire and incumbencies in both counties. Drych y Prif Oesoedd (Mirror of the Early Centuries) (1716) is his best known work. In it he endeavours to justify the independent origins of British Christianity. Bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, with binder's stamp inside front board. Condition: In a morocco binding with gilt decoration. Externally, lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound, bright and clean with small ink numbers to front free endpaper. Overall: FINE [Attributes: Hard Cover]
