Chatto & Windus 1954 - First edition, first impression. Near Fine: tight and square binding in clean pale blue cloth, sunned to the extreme spine tips and with a trace of rubbing to the corners; bright, unfaded gilt (scarce, thus); spotting to the top-edge of the page block and sporadically to the fore-edge and pastedowns; the usual band of offsetting to each free endpaper, else internally bright, crisp and clean. The unclipped, first-state dustwrapper (6s net stated) is Near Fine: crisp and vibrant with notably vivid colouring and no fading; modest toning to the spine and extremities; a little faint spotting to the rear panel; very lightly rubbed to the head of the spine; presented in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover.
