An austere, minimalist poster depicting the last man standing from the so called 'August 7th Rebellion'at the Marin County Courthouse after which he was charged with conspiracy, kidnapping and murder. He is still imprisoned whereas his co-defendant Angela Davis garnered huge support and was acquitted.He re-named himself in memory of 'Joseph Cinqué' leader of the Amistad slave revolt (shortly after Donald DeFreeze of the SLA renamed himself'Fieldmarshal Cinque) and argued in court that, like his hero, his incarceration was a form of slavery and therefore illegal. Old central horizontal fold, a light brown spot on the far left margin.
