The Mystery of The Missing Necklace
Methuen & Co. Ltd, London 1947 - 1st impression. 12.7x 19.2cm, taupe cloth with maroon titles and vignette to the front and titles to the spine, 167pp (1) author's works with 9 black and white full page images including frontispiece. The book has its original unclipped dust jacket with a 5s net price. The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are beautifully clean and bright with firm, sharp corners. Internally, there is a name to the front free endpaper and spotting to the endpapers. The dust jacket is very bright, fresh and un-faded with rich vibrant colours, especially on the spine, having been in a protective cover for a very long time. It does have some rubbing to the corners, edges and spine tips and is minutely chipped and creased on the bottom edge of the rear panel. It also has a 0.5 x 0.6 cm chip to the head of the spine. There is also a 0.8 cm closed tear at the top of the shoulder on the front panel and a couple of smaller tears along the top edge. The jacket is now protected by a clear removable cover, not shown in the images. All in all a very bright copy of this the fifth book in Blyton's 'five finder-outers' series. . If you would like any further information or images, please do not hesitate to ask. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
