[ii]+26(last blank); cloth backed printed papered boards, a trifle soiled, edges and spine cloth slightly faded, the top fore-corners lightly bruised; uncut; a couple of spots of foxing, name in pencil at head of title page; Longmans & Co., printed at the Chiswick Press, London, 1898. Walsdorf 67. *The first of six lectures by Morris to be published in this format. It was set up at the Kelmscott Press just before it closed and the type was transferred to The Chiswick Press for printing. Loosely inserted in this copy is a slip from the publishers: 'Messrs Longmans intend this book to be sold to the Public at the advertised price, and supply it to the Trade on terms which will not allow of discount.'
