No date. Ca. 1930s. - Color pictorial / pictographic map, 17 1/2 x 26 on sheet 28 x 19 3/4 inches, decorative border. Light scattered foxing in margins (not affecting image). Map clean and bright. "This famous highway followed the general route of the buffalo-Indian trail and the old State Road of 1786, built at the suggestion of Washington to connect the headwaters of the James and the Kanawha." A quality production, on thick laid paper, with attractive pictographs of historical events and places by illustrator Ashton Woodman Reniers.
