At the Moon's Inn (SIGNED FIRST EDITION)
Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1941. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 6 X 8 3/4 Inches. 400 PP. Stated "First Edition" on the copyright page. Signed and inscribed by Lytle on the half-title page. Signed, "To Bill Starr, who reads, I take it. What the book intends, Andrew Lytle, July, 1977, Sycamore Fall, KY." Original price of $2.75 intact at bottom edge of fron DJ fold. Original endpapers feature the map of the route of Hernando de Soto in 1539. Andrew Lytle is widely known for his association with the Southern Agrarian movement and his participation in "I'll Take My Stand" alongside Robert Penn Warren, Allen Tate and others. Lytle served as editor of the Sewanee Review for a bit while teaching at The University of the South in Cowan, TN. Lytle's first major literary success came with his books on Nathan Bedford Forrest. An impressive and rare dust jacket with a bit of wear at the edges. Even with a few very small blemishes and worn spots at the folds, this rare jacket is the finest example we have seen. Original blue cloth a bit faded. No previous owner writing and/or plates.
