Part of the collection of "the Pedagogue's Library" , a private collection, which had numbered books from 1857 to 1895 only, with nearly all in the 1870's and '80's. Bright gilt on green cloth covers, without signs of damage or wear. Very good to fine throughout text and interior. Tissue over frontis photo of Wallace in his later years. A bit of foxing to pages near the title page. Bookplate on inside pastedown, "The Pedagogue's Library - 397". Illustrated throughout with drawings and sketches. Sections such as: "On the Aborigines of the Amazon".. With: "Portrait,full-page illustrations, and biographical introduction."
