9 - London - Walter Scott 1884 - An anthological work of traditional Scottish tales. Complete, with 24 volumes bound as 12. In lovely uniform half calf bindings with the scottish thistle gilt stamped to the spines. Written by John Mackay Wilson and Alexander Leighton. Mackay Wilson was responsible for the first six volumes of this work. This popular story serial was then continued by Mackay Wilson's brother. Leightonwas appointed editor and chief story writer of the works which was then re-issued with additions. Condition: In uniform half calf bindings with gilt stamping to the spines. Externally, smart with light rubbing o the head and tail of spines and to the extremities. A few marks to boards. Front hinge to Vol 3/4 is slightly strained but firm. Both hinges to 7/8 are slightly strained but firm. Front hinge to 13/14 is slightly strained but firm. Front hinge to volume 23/4 is slightly strained but firm with the front endpaper loosening. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spots. Overall: VERYGOOD INDEED. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
