The Royal Military Chronicle Or British Officers Monthly Register And Mentor, 1810-1813. In good condition for a periodical often found in poor shape.
J. Davis, London 1811 - Six royal octavo volumes bound in contemporary tree calf with twin black leather labels to each volume. The calf is rather rubbed and worn and some joints are cracking but firm - a good set replete with plans, portraits and maps. This periodical is an important source for obituary notices, biographies, letters from various theatres of war and copies of bulletins, technical treatises etc. This set comes from the library of Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn of Wynnstay, Denbighshire with his signature on the front paste-down of Volume I and engraved armorial bookplate in all volumes. This periodical runs to ten volumes and is now difficult to find as either a complete set or a decent run. It is, sadly, cursed by the lack of an index. Extra postal rate will apply. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
