With illustrated frontispieces to Volumes I and II of Curiosities of Literature and twofull illustrated plates to Amenities of Literature. Volume III of Curiosities of Literature appears to be lacking frontispiece. All other volumes appear complete. no exact collation available for undated editions with pagination/plates for 3vol. D'Israeli was best known for his essays and association with other men of letters. His son Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield and Prime Minister,edited these editions. His Curiosities of Literatureis his most popular work. It contains many anecdotes about historical persons and events, unusual books and the abits of book collectors. Condition: In half calf bindings with gilt stamped spines. Externally, excellent with some light rubbing to boards. Bookplate to all front pastedowns. Internally, volume III of Curiosities and Literary Character are firmly bound. Curiosities vol I & II, Amenities and Calamities are generally firmly bound though strained in places.
