Turin: C. Crudo. Good with no dust jacket. 1915. First Edition. Hardcover. 5 unnumbered pages and 60 plates loose as issued. Width: 13" Height: 17.25". The Campo Verano (Italian: Cimitero del Verano) is a cemetery in Rome that was founded in the early nineteenth century. The cemetery is currently divided into sections: the Jewish cemetery, the Catholic cemetery, and the monument to the victims of the World War I. Collection of loose plates is preserved in a portfolio with a black cloth spine. The front cover has a art nouveau illustration depicting a sepulchral monument. The publisher's catalogue appears on the rear cover. The spine cover shows substantial loss, with only a piece just below the mid-section still attached. Chipping is visible at the edges of the boards. Loss is visible at the upper right corner of the front cover. A new small white sticker appears in the upper right corner of the front cover. The cloth ties at the fore edge are intact. The leaf bearing the title displays heavy foxing. The plates exhibit light age-toning at the edges and are otherwise clean and without markings. All called-for illustrations are present. Scarce, no copies located. 10 pounds shipped. .
