A FEW PALM TREES
Heavy Industry Publications, Hollywood, CA 1971 - np (64pp), 14 b&w illustrations. In a protective clear acetate dustwrapper. "A Few Palm Trees" is Edward Ruscha's thirteenth photographically illustrated artist book - a charming black and white survey of fourteen palm trees inhabiting the City of Angels. An internally bright, most handsome example of the 1971 first and only edition (entry B13 in Siri Engberg's "Edward Ruscha: Editions 1959-1999" which is also cited on pages 198-201 of The Hasselblad Center's "The Open Book", page 104 of "From Fair to Fine 2", and page 224 of "From Fair to Fine 3") limited to three thousand, nine hundred copies issued without a glassine wrapper showing just a bit of wear and handling to its still-glossy black covers along with a mild soft crease along the spine. A white adhesive label reading "American Distributor: / Wittenborn and Company / 1018 Madison Ave., New York, N.Y. 10021" is affixed to the title page.
