McAvoy Charts the Mode for Fall. For the Tea Dansant, for the formal function, for the promenade, McAvoy charts the Parisian Mode with faultless precision.
McAvoy. Chicago. 1928. - Color (pochoir) pictographic / pictorial map, 11 1/4 x 17 3/4 inches on sheet size 12 1/4 x 18 3/4 inches, centerfold. Date in ink at left lower margin, faint discoloration to verso of right half (barely noticeable on front); 1 1/2 inch split to upper centrefold; overall very good condition. An extraordinary piece of Art Deco ephemera, advertising the fashionable dress shop McAvoy's located on North Michigan Boulevard. Map shows Michigan Boulevard and Lake Shore Drive along with vignette illustrations of men and women in 1920s fashions. Text continued, "Costumes, furs and accessories, for Debutante and Matran are now being shown in the Blue-Green Salon".
