This book is a slightly expanded edition from the author's book published in 1841, Report on the Insects of Massachusetts, Injurious to Vegetation. Chapter headings; Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, and Diptera. 459 pages with index. Bookplate of entomologist Fred. William Hope on the front paste-down endpaper. Evidence of removal of bookplate from the front free endpaper. Contemporary binding of half brown leather over marbled boards with four raised bands. Lettering and rule on the spine in gilt. A very good, handsome copy.. Inscribed. First edition thus. Hardcover.
