Original green cloth, titles and pictorial images to spine and front cover in gilt, pictorial endpapers, top edge green. Housed in a green quarter morocco folding case. Front hinge cracked, spine rolled, rubbing to ends of spine and corners, toning to spine, light soiling to covers, a very good copy. Colour frontispiece and 12 colour plates with tissue guards, black and white illustrations in the text, by Rackham. First trade edition, first impression. Presentation copy to the artist's sister-in-law Fanny Starkie, inscribed on the half-title with an original ink drawing by Arthur Rackham of two crows, "To Fanny from Edyth & Arthur Rackham Christmas 1912", the inscription in Edyth's hand except for Arthur's signature.
