Petrus van Avont, 1647 - Etching. Trimmed at border, mounted at top corners in open matting. Clean, fine impression. Lower left corner with artists names and date. Illustrations: A young satyr helping a child to climb on back of a goat, two children holding its horns and legs, and a third drinking milk from its udder. Hollar (1607-1677), Bohemian, active in London. One of the premier etchers and draftsmen of the 17th century, Wenceslaus Hollar is known for his landscape, architectural and topographical views, still lifes and depictions of women?s fashions.
