The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám
London: George G. Harrap & Co.,, 1930. The first and fourth renderings in English verse. Large octavo (270 x 210 mm). Original blue morocco, gilt titles to spine, raised bands, circular gilt floral motif with coloured onlays on front cover, top edge gilt, untrimmed, lightly marbled endpapers. Housed in original card box with paper label printed in black to end. 12 tipped-in colour plates by Willy Pogány. Paper slip with Spanish translation of verse 99 laid-in. Two very minor blemishes to turn-in of front cover, a little browning to extremities of endpapers. An excellent copy. Signed limited edition, number 660 of 750 copies printed for the UK and signed by the artist. A further 500 copies were printed for the US.
