Illuminated Antiphonal Leaves
ca. 16th century - Folio: 505 x 360mm. On recto and verso of each vellum leaf. Six staves ruled in red, musical notation in black, text in a fine, large gothic hand with varying large initial capitals in black and red. Folio. Antiphonals were books containing the sung portions of the Divine Office. These manuscript leaves are large, typical of the medieval book, so it could be shared by a choir. Folio: 505 x 360mm.
