Spines, have raised bands, gilt titles, a little faded, edges bumped and worn a little. Internally, both volumes have the bookplate of Birkenhead library to fpd, some offsetting to fep, hinges strengthened, text block edges uncut. Volume 1, half title and frontis present, occasional small lib stamp, [12], (cxci), 219 pp, 32 pl, [1], [3], [1], printed by W Bulmer and Co, Cleveland Row, St James's. Vol 2, , half title and portrait frontis present, pencil name and small lib stamp to tp, thence occasionally, [6], 440 pp, [3], [1], 27 pl, large coloured pull out map, 59 plates in total.
