Patrick Brontë, 1777-1861, was born in County Down, Ireland. He moved to England where he was ordained as a Priest in 1807, moving to the vicarage of Haworth in 1819. The father of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë, and his only son Branwell, Patrick was himself a prolific writer publishing in all, four books, three pamphlets, and two sermons - this is his first published book.
