731. Copper engraving. Uncoloured. Very good condition. Centrefold reinforced; some light foxing and browning along the fold. A superb engraving from a drawing by the architect Jacob Gibbs, dated 1738. From the series of views known as Perspective Views of all the Ancient Churches. Toms was one of the finest engravers of his time, and the quality of his artistry is nothing short of exquisite.
