Margaret Atwood is a well regardedCanadian author, who is perhaps best known for the feminist themes that are often present in her work. The Handmaid's Tale is a widely influential work that explores these themes within the landscape of a dystopian near-future, in which women are treated as a commoditywith their value placed on their ability to produce offspring. The work was met with much critical acclaim, winning the Arthur C. Clarke award in 1987. Condition: Ina black cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart withjustsome light shelfwear to the extremities, including lightbumping to the head and tail of the spine. Dustwrapper isgenerally smart, with someslightbumping to thetop. There are some crease marks to the front of the wrap and some marks to the reverse. Pre-issue bookseller's sticker to the front of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound.
