T Garthwait at the little North door of St Pauls, London 1661 - An fairly uncommon early edition of this work, in a good contemporary binding with engraved title page and frontispiece by Wenceslaus Hollar. ESTC R210117. Front, engraved title, printed title, preface etc viii, 408, tables xii, 12mo, 15 x 9 cm. FUll calf with panelled boards. Very clean and sound internally. Externally attractive but there is wear to the corners, some leather has flaked at head and tail of spine, and front hinge/joint has a Japanese paper repair - IMAGES TO FOLLOW. Anthony Sparrow (1612 – 19 May 1685) was an English Anglican priest. He was Bishop of Norwich and Bishop of Exeter. He first published this work in 1655, before the restoration of Charles II.
