Addey, London 1852 - Color Illustrations; Small 8vo 7½" - 8" ; 152 pages; Full contemporary straight-grain blood-red morocco elaborately stamped in gilt including several frames at covers with Wall of Troy outer border, spine with lettering and continuing vertical sequence of small floral design, marbled edges and endpapers, text with four wood-engraved plates with original full hand-coloring. Spine and edges darkened but gilt still strong, joints slightly tender, cover gilt bright, text tight, brief aging, minor foxing to title page and a few other leaves, plates retain very solid coloring. Apparently very scarce anonymous juvenile by Miller, who also used the pseudonym Mrs. Harriet Myrtle. She was the wife of Hugh Miller (1802-1856) , noted British geologist, and this was one of several published for her by Joseph Cundall. This is also one of only a few titles prepared and produced by Cundall during the three years he was a silent partner with H. M. Addey after Cundall's own publishing firm went bankrupt in 1849.; 0 [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
