German Youth in a Changing World
Berlin: Terramare Press, 1936. Fourth edition. Softcover. g. Octavo. 47, [1]pp. Original pictorial wrappers. Frontispiece. Scarce Nazi propaganda booklet, intended to show to the outside world the "happiness" and the new role assigned to the German youth in the Third Reich. This work is profusely illustrated with numerous b/w photographic reproductions of German youth enrolled in the Hitler-Jugend (Hitler Youth organization). Hitler said "I begin with the young. We older ones are used up. We are rotten to the marrow. We are cowardly and sentimental. We are bearing the burden of a humiliating past, and have in our blood the dull recollection of serfdom and servility. But my magnificent youngsters! Are there any finer ones in the world? Look at these young men and boys! What material! With them, I can make a New World. This is the heroic stage of youth. Out of it will come the creative man, the man-god." Minor creasing and age-toning along edges of wrappers. Front joint slightly rubbed. Wrappers in overall good, interior in very good condition.
