Death in the Afternoon
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1932. 517pp., illustrated by photograph, bound in black cloth, upper board stamped with the author's name in gilt, spine lettered and decorated in gilt. A lovely copy, nearly fine inunclipped pictorial dust jacket showing a few chips to spines ends and corners, small chip along bottom edge of front panel. Overall, a very nice copy housed in a custom leather backed clamshell. The author writes profound and subtle reasons why bullfighting is so wonderful to so many men for so many centuries, and why bullfighting is truly an art rather than sport.. First Edition. Octavo.
