The Wind in the Willows
Methuen & Co, London 1951 - 4to. Color frontispiece and 11 color plates, mounted on letterpress leaves. Original white sheep, gilt-lettered on spine, top edges gilt, others untrimmed; original publisher's slipcase with printed paper title label. A wonderful association copy of this deluxe edition, published as the 100th edition of Grahame's classic book, and here presented to Limited Editions Club founder George Macy. A fitting tribute to Macy, as Rackham's illustrations to this work originally appeared in the LEC edition of 1940. Front joint slightly split at top, head of spine slightly chipped, internally bright and fresh Limited edition, one of 500 copies, this copy out-of-series and presented to George Macy. [Attributes: Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
